PTFE Clamps for Ground Glass Joints with Encapsulated Steel Springs

ASTIKs
Ground glass joint clamps machined from virgin PTFE — resistant to virtually all solvents, concentrated acids and bases without degradation. Steel springs are fully encapsulated in PTFE; no metal contacts the working environment. Rated to 280 °C, making them suitable for heating mantle and oil bath assemblies. Replace metal clamps wherever corrosion, contamination or chemical attack is a concern. Essential for organic synthesis, HF work and any application where chemical inertness is non-negotiable.

PTFE Clamps for Ground Glass Joints with Encapsulated Springs

Clamps for securing ground glass joints in laboratory assemblies. Constructed entirely from virgin PTFE, with steel springs fully encapsulated — no metal part is exposed to the working environment.

Why PTFE and not metal

PTFE is inert to virtually all chemical agents: concentrated acids, strong bases, halogenated solvents, HF. A metal clamp in those environments corrodes, contaminates the assembly or fails. These do not.

  • Material: Virgin PTFE
  • Springs: Steel, fully encapsulated in PTFE
  • Chemical resistance: Resistant to acids, bases and aggressive solvents
  • Maximum temperature: 280 °C

Typical applications

Distillation, reflux and synthesis set-ups involving corrosive reagents. Particularly suited where HF, strongly oxidising mixtures or chlorinated solvents are present. Also used where any trace metal contamination in the final product is unacceptable.

Standard in fine chemistry, organic synthesis, pharmaceutical and trace analysis laboratories.

Technical data
