GLASSCO
Filtering crucible manufactured in borosilicate 3.3 glass with an integrated sintered disc. Maximum working temperature: 220 ºC — always heat and cool slowly and under controlled conditions. Available in six porosity grades: P0 (150–200 μm), P1 (90–150 μm), P2 (40–90 μm), P3 (15–40 μm), P4 (5–15 μm) and P5 (1–2 μm). Select porosity grade according to the particle size to be retained. Suitable for vacuum filtration in gravimetry, quantitative analysis and precipitate separation.

Borosilicate 3.3 Filtering Crucible with Sintered Disc — Porosity Grades 0 to 5

Filtering crucible manufactured in borosilicate 3.3 glass with a sintered disc fused into the base. One-piece construction — no joints, no leaks. The porous disc acts as the filter during vacuum filtration and as the precipitate support during subsequent weighing.

Available Porosity Grades

  • Porosity 0: 150–200 μm — coarse and gelatinous precipitates
  • Porosity 1: 90–150 μm — coarse crystalline precipitates
  • Porosity 2: 40–90 μm — general-purpose gravimetric analysis
  • Porosity 3: 15–40 μm — fine crystalline precipitates
  • Porosity 4: 5–15 μm — very fine precipitates
  • Porosity 5: 1–2 μm — bacterial filtration and sub-micrometre particles

Typical Applications

Quantitative gravimetry, precipitate separation in chemical analysis, suspension filtration in quality control. The crucible transfers directly from filtration to the drying oven — no precipitate transfer required, eliminating sample loss and reducing error in the final weighing.

Usage Note

Always heat and cool gradually. Borosilicate 3.3 tolerates moderate thermal changes well, but abrupt thermal shock may crack the sintered disc. Clean with dilute nitric acid or sodium hydroxide solution depending on the nature of the retained precipitate.
