Alumina Crucible Tall Form 99.7% up to 1750 °C Unglazed
In stock
Alumina Crucible Tall Form 99.7% up to 1750 °C
Tall form crucible in high-purity alumina (99.7 %). Unglazed—suited to applications where a vitreous surface is not acceptable. Maximum working temperature: 1750 °C.
Material Specifications
- Material: Alumina (Al₂O₃) 99.7 % purity
- Maximum temperature: 1750 °C
- Finish: Unglazed
- Lid: Not included
Typical Applications
High-temperature calcinations, fusion of salts and oxides, gravimetric assays and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Also used in ceramic material synthesis and laboratory metallurgy where a chemically inert vessel is required in contact with molten phases.
The tall form geometry reduces the risk of powder ejection during heating—providing a greater safety margin than a low-form crucible of equivalent useful volume.
Why Unglazed
Glazing improves surface density but introduces a vitreous phase that can react with certain molten materials or contaminate the sample. Unglazed, the crucible remains inert against most metal oxides and molten salts at high temperature. The preferred choice for quality-control calcinations and sample preparation for XRF.
