FDA-Approved Isostatic-Moulded PTFE Crucible
Crucible manufactured from pure PTFE by isostatic moulding. This process ensures homogeneous density throughout—no weak points. FDA approved. Indicated for chemical digestions and work with aggressive acids where glass or porcelain are not viable.
Material Specifications
- Material:Pure PTFE, isostatic moulding
- Approval:FDA
- Maximum temperature:280 °C
- Chemical resistance:Inert to acids, bases and aggressive solvents, including HF and aqua regia
- Surface:Non-porous, no sample retention
Applications
Chemical digestion of solid samples, sample preparation for ICP, work with highly aggressive acids at low temperature. Essential where vessel contamination could invalidate results.
Standard in trace analysis, geochemistry, environmental monitoring and food control laboratories.
Why PTFE and Not Porcelain
Porcelain is porous and can leach ions that interfere with analysis. PTFE is inert—transfers nothing to the sample. Resistant to HF, which destroys both glass and porcelain. For nitric-hydrofluoric acid mixtures, PTFE is the only practical option.
