Two-Neck Heart-Shaped Borosilicate Distillation Flask
Distillation flask with a bilobed profile—heart shape—and two necks fitted with standard ground glass joints. Borosilicate glass construction; resistant to thermal shock and to most common laboratory reagents.
Why the Heart Shape
The bilobed geometry is functional, not decorative. It improves liquid circulation during heating, reduces hot spots, and minimises bumping in viscous mixtures or systems prone to irregular boiling. More control than a conventional round-bottom flask under those conditions.
Specifications
- Material: Borosilicate glass
- Necks: 2, with standard ground glass joints
- Geometry: Bilobed, heart-shaped base
- Primary use: Distillation of viscous mixtures or bumping-prone systems
Typical Configurations
Two necks allow simultaneous connection of condenser and thermometer, or the thermometer can be replaced with an addition funnel for reagent dosing during distillation. No single-hole adapters or additional bridges required.
Widely used in organic synthesis, essential oil distillation, and processes involving high-viscosity mixtures.
Compatibility
Fits standard heating mantles. Ground glass joints are compatible with stoppers, condensers, addition funnels, and columns sharing the same standard cone size.
