Gooch Crucible with Perforated Base Porcelain up to 1150 °C
In stock
Gooch Crucible with Perforated Base Porcelain up to 1150 °C
Gooch crucible manufactured in resistant porcelain. For gravimetric filtration and calcination requiring high thermal resistance and chemical stability.
Features
- Material:Porcelain
- Maximum temperature:1150 °C
- Base:Perforated to retain filter layer during filtration
- Glaze:Interior and exterior, except rim and lower base
- Lid:Not included
Applications
The Gooch crucible is standard in gravimetry for calcining filtered precipitates. The perforated base retains the filter layer as the filtration medium. After filtration, the crucible transfers directly to a furnace or muffle.
Used in quantitative analysis laboratories, industrial quality control, and inorganic chemistry.
Usage Notes
Unglazed zones at the rim and lower base ensure proper sealing against the funnel and prevent slippage.
For calcination at maximum temperature, heat and cool gradually to avoid thermal shock.
