Tall-Form Porcelain Crucible with Lid Basic Line — glazed inside and outside

HDN ceramics
Tall-form porcelain crucible sold as a set: crucible and lid. Glazed inside and out. Easier to clean than unglazed porcelain, with improved chemical resistance. High thermal resistance. Suitable for muffle furnace use. Chemical resistance is high except against hydrofluoric acid and strongly alkaline substances. Tall form accommodates larger sample volumes or reactions requiring headspace. Lid limits spatter losses during ashing.

Tall-Form Porcelain Crucible with Lid Basic Line

Crucible and lid set in porcelain glazed inside and out. Price covers both pieces. Tall form for ashing, sample incineration and loss-on-ignition determinations where greater capacity or containment is required.

Specifications

  • Material: Porcelain, glazed interior and exterior
  • Form: Tall
  • Contents: Crucible + lid (sold as a set)
  • Thermal resistance: High — suitable for muffle furnace use
  • Chemical resistance: High in general; not suitable for HF or strongly alkaline media

Typical Applications

Ashing, sample incineration, loss-on-ignition, fusions and thermal treatments in muffle furnaces. Widely used in quality control laboratories, soil analysis, the ceramics industry and university teaching.

The lid reduces sample losses from spatter and limits cross-contamination.

Why Glazed Porcelain

Glaze on both faces produces a smoother, less porous surface than unglazed porcelain. Cleaning is straightforward, and resistance to dilute acids and salts is improved. Tall form provides more working clearance than low-form crucibles of the same base diameter.

Limitations

Do not use with hydrofluoric acid or hot concentrated bases — both attack the glaze and the underlying porcelain. For those media, consider platinum, nickel or alumina crucibles.
