Nickel Crucible without Lid — Resistant up to 600 °C
Nickel crucible for fusion and calcination work requiring resistance to strong alkalis and molten salts. Maximum working temperature: 600 °C. Lid not included.
Features
- Material:Nickel
- Maximum temperature:600 °C
- Chemical resistance:High resistance to strong alkaline compounds and molten salts
- Limitations:Not suitable for acids — nickel degrades under acidic conditions
- Lid:Not included
Applications
Alkali fusions with molten sodium or potassium hydroxides, where porcelain crucibles fail. Sample preparation for inorganic analysis, gravimetric assays and mineralisation procedures in geochemistry, metallurgy and quality control laboratories.
Nickel withstands prolonged contact with molten alkalis — its key advantage over porcelain and borosilicate glass.
Compatibility and Limitations
Compatible with strong bases and molten salts. Incompatible with acids, strongly oxidising mixtures and elemental sulfur at elevated temperatures. For acid-based work, consider porcelain, quartz or platinum crucibles depending on the application.
