Principal Applications

Broad-spectrum antimicrobial preservative — active against gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria, moulds and yeasts. Used in cosmetics, personal hygiene products and topical pharmaceutical preparations.

Applied as a relatively low-toxicity solvent in chemical synthesis, as a stabilising agent and as a component in preservative blends.
