Polypropylene Stopper for Ground Glass Joints — Hollow, Autoclavable

Closure stopper for standard ground glass joints, manufactured in polypropylene. Hollow construction — lightweight and easy to handle. A direct solution for protecting the joint or sealing a port when the assembly is not in use.

Features

  • Material: Polypropylene (PP)
  • Design: Hollow — reduced weight, improved grip
  • Sterilisation: Autoclavable at 121 °C
  • Chemical resistance: Compatible with most common organic solvents

Applications

For closing ground glass joints on flasks, distillation columns, condensers, addition funnels and any glassware with a standard joint during storage or downtime. Also useful for preventing cross-contamination between uses.

Routinely used in organic chemistry, pharmaceutical, quality control and teaching laboratories.

Technical Data

  • Material: PP
  • Construction: Hollow
  • Autoclave: Yes, 121 °C

Usage Notes

Not suitable for pressure closures or assemblies requiring a full hermetic seal — use a solid stopper or O-ring seal for those applications. PP is inert to dilute acids and bases but may be affected by concentrated halogenated solvents. Reusable with standard laboratory cleaning procedures.
