RC-1 Recirculating Cooler

Recirculating cooler for laboratory and industrial use. Replaces mains water in any setup requiring condensation — no water waste, no dependency on line pressure. Connects up to three instruments simultaneously and operates with R-290, one of the lowest-impact refrigerants currently available.

Typical Applications

Condensation in rotary evaporators, distillation units, Soxhlet apparatus, Clevenger equipment, and any instrument requiring a closed coolant circuit. Commonly used in synthesis, extraction, and quality-control laboratories where continuous mains water consumption presents an operational or environmental concern.

Technical Specifications

  • Refrigerant: R-290, low environmental impact
  • Simultaneous connections: Up to 3 units
  • Recommended fluid: 5 % water/glycol mixture
  • Supply voltage: 230 V / 50 Hz
  • Standard: DIN 12876-2
  • Warranty: 2 years

Usage Notes

The tank incorporates a level sight glass — coolant volume is checked at a glance, no disassembly required. Castors allow effortless repositioning on the bench or floor. The 5 % glycol mixture protects the circuit against corrosion and improves thermal transfer compared to deionised or tap water alone.

Advantages Over Mains Water

Eliminates continuous water discharge to drain — relevant in laboratories running rotary evaporators or extended distillation runs. The closed loop holds condensation temperature steady, which improves result reproducibility compared to installations reliant on variable mains water temperature.
