Angled drying tube fabricated in LBG borosilicate 3.3 glass. Designed to protect reactions and assemblies from atmospheric moisture — intercalated in a gas line or at a flask outlet to trap water vapour before it enters the system. The angled geometry simplifies filling with desiccant and prevents granular material from falling back into the assembly. Compatible with standard desiccants: silica gel, calcium chloride, molecular sieves. Borosilicate 3.3 is resistant to most solvents and dilute acids.

Angled drying tube borosilicate 3.3

Drying tube with angled body fabricated in LBG borosilicate 3.3 glass. Used to exclude moisture from an assembly — at a gas inlet, at the outlet of a condenser, or as protection for a precision balance.

Why the angle matters

The angled geometry serves two purposes: it simplifies packing with granular desiccant and prevents material from falling back into the assembly under pressure fluctuations. More practical than straight tubes in confined setups.

Compatible desiccants

Silica gel, anhydrous calcium chloride, calcium sulphate, 3Å or 4Å molecular sieves. Borosilicate 3.3 glass does not react with any of these agents or with common organic solvents.
