Polypropylene Volumetric Flask with Screw Cap, Calibrated at 20 °C
Volumetric flask in high-clarity polypropylene. Narrow neck removes the meniscus typical of other plastics, giving a clean, direct read at the graduation mark. Integrated screw cap — no loose stoppers.
Key Features
- Material:High-clarity polypropylene
- Closure:Integrated screw cap
- Neck:Narrow, meniscus-free — direct reading at graduation mark
- Calibration:Gravimetric method at 20 °C
- Autoclavable: Yes
When to Use Polypropylene Instead of Glass
Hydrofluoric acid, concentrated alkaline solutions, or any reagent that attacks borosilicate. Also where breakage risk demands plastic — fieldwork, teaching labs, high-throughput handling areas.
PP is chemically inert against most dilute acids and bases. Lightweight — reduces fatigue during extended use.
Technical Data
- Material:Polypropylene (PP)
- Clarity:High — liquid level visible without additional lighting
- Calibration:Gravimetric at 20 °C
- Autoclave: Yes
Usage Note
Avoid aggressive organic solvents that attack PP — concentrated acetone, THF, or chloroform. For those applications, borosilicate glass remains the appropriate choice.
