High-density polyethylene (HDPE) jar in wide-mouth format, commonly referred to in laboratory practice as a duchess jar. Supplied aseptic and shrink-wrapped in individual bags to maintain sterility until point of opening. Includes black screw cap and stopper.

Intended use

Individual aseptic packaging eliminates the autoclaving step prior to sampling — open and use directly. Particularly suited to sampling workflows where cross-contamination is a genuine risk.

Routinely used in microbiology laboratories, food quality control, environmental sampling and water analysis. The wide mouth allows introduction of solid, semi-solid or viscous liquid samples without spillage or loss.

HDPE chemical resistance

Compatible with dilute acids, bases, saline solutions and most aqueous solutions in standard laboratory use. Not recommended for aromatic organic solvents or halogenated hydrocarbons.
